The Inspiring Young Emerging Leader (IYEL) program is a paid internship that focuses on youth voice and youth empowerment. For 6 months, from January-July you will commit to growing as a leader, exploring social justice issues in your community, participating in community service projects, and planning events for other youth. This program is youth-led and coordinated!
Benefits/Pay:
- Make up to $285 per month depending on participation.
- Skill building, learn about social justice and environmental justice issues in your community
- Make new friends
- Learn to be a leader, opportunities to teach and lead others.
- Free overnight trips to Yosemite, Point Reyes and other national park sites
- Free food at each meeting
- Free swag (hoodies, tshirts, ect)
- College recommendation/letter of reference
- Transportation from Balboa BART or Stonestown to the work site at Crissy Field Center in the Presidio.
Requirements:
- SFUSD high school student
- Desire to challenge yourself and make a positive impact in your community.
- Interest in social justice issues and/or the environment
- Able to commit to work schedule
